Literature Text
Do not live in the past,
For memories forever last,
Let the deceased rest,
Or they will eat you like pests,
Remove thy guilt,
Only then will your world tilt

The last time I saw you, you were bedridden and half-coherent That goodbye was a very sloppy one; both of us were hindered In our own ways I remember when you talked about getting back to normal, as if You planned on making Death wait a few more decades; I had No doubt that you would regain your basic functions I know better than to be optimistic like that I'm used to undeserved misery, but why did it have to spill over to you? I've always wanted to die after you, but why did it have to be so soon? It's a horrible part of life, but why does it only happen when there's hope? Questions that no human being can answer I would ask God, but he's never replied-- why would he this time? All I can do is mourn the loss of a man who was the closest thing to A father that I will ever have So intelligent, knowledgeable, brave, considerate, and generous A great example of someone who's broken but full of potential The apotheosis of a family-oriented individual And the only one who was anything

Nightfall
Humans submerge in each other's comfort and warmth, Blood buzzes with excitement when they feel each other close by. They suffocate by emotions clouding their face. Souls, that know that they were missing a piece. Both souls met each other when they were very little, yet were dubious and unaware. Simply two, who had met within the void of fate, answered with the clarity of an epiphany. You envisioned a soul falling from the firmament, not expecting someone to catch them as they were bound to fall, You assumed that you were destined to fall, Yet, there is this sea inclined to catch you. I am all disposed to unlearn how to swim, just so I could drown in the billows of your comfort. Your waters are as pellucid as crystals, I can see a reflection of myself in you.

Consciousness
Dream-like thoughts And thought-like dreams I can smell a glimpse of Myself between the moment frames An elusive shadow Or perhaps a wish whispered to the wind The earth pushes from all sides Until breathing is succeeded By sporadic spasms of the chest Barely worth the effort Master of words rendered silent Wondering, in her uselessness Why the stars went dark And why the moon is oh so silent Why the noise of daylight Ever-present Penetrates all consciousness

A poem I wrote for a lame story I had written in my English exam but I was proud of my poem so I decided to write it down.
